Hollywood Forever Cemetery Evicts Rebel Marker

The angry marching, yelling, defacing and statue chopping have reached across the nation. For example, some are happening at the final resting places of Hollywood movie moguls and stars in Los Angeles.

Protesters threatened damage unless an old plaque at the cemetery honoring Civil War Confederate soldiers was removed. Management, fearing vandalism throughout the 130-year-old burial ground, quickly complied.

Old Hollywood is well represented by names on the gravestones and monuments. They include Hattie McDaniel, Mickey Rooney, Rudolph Valentino, Tyrone Power, Douglas Fairbanks Sr. and Jr., Cecil B. DeMille, Charlie Chaplin, Judy Garland and many others. McDaniel won the Academy Award in 1939 for portraying the slave, Mammy, in “Gone With The Wind”.

While this politically-correct destruction is happening, did anyone hear some Rebel rumblings from beneath the grave markers? Just maybe a ghostly moaning of, “Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn!”
