In some cities, now competing with strollers for busy street and sidewalk space, are these new lively meals and other boxes on wheels. As my recent photo indicates, they faithfully follow their escorts to nearby destinations like trained canines.
Advantages for retail stores and restaurants are that the carts can carry large loads and eliminate the need for traffic-slowing, pollution-creating truck and car deliveries. Disadvantages include traffic light dangers and hogging sidewalks from slow-moving seniors, baby carriages and wheelchairs. In some cities, there has been criticism and some calls to ban the bothersome electronic deliverers. What do you think?
