Due to lagging sales, the New England Confectionery Company has discontinued making those thin little circular candy wafers. After more than 170 years, candy store shelves will no long carry the familiar item.
I have happy memories as a kid with Necco wafers. A small pack of 20 cost 5¢, my weekly allowance. By carefully and slowly consuming just a couple a day, I could make them last an entire week. Once in awhile I could trade one or two for a bite of a Baby Ruth or Mars Bar.
