In the recent voting, Beto O’Rourke lost to Ted Cruz to be a Texas representative in Congress. In his post-election televised speech, Beto thanked those who voted for him by saying, “I’m so fxxxxing proud of you guys!”
Is he the first politician to use profanity in public speeches? Of course not; here are some historic examples:
George Washington: I cannot tell a fxxxxing lie. I chopped down the tree.
Abe Lincoln: Four score and seven fxxxxing years ago.
Teddy Roosevelt: Speak softly and carry a big fxxxxing stick.
Franklin Roosevelt: We have nothing to fear but fxxxxing fear itself.
Bill Clinton: I did not fxxx that woman!
