Over the past decade, I haven’t gone to a movie theater more than two or three times. Who needs the rude audience, tall guy in front and/or screaming kid in next seat? And ticket prices keep going up, with add-on robbery for overpriced gasoline, sky high parking fees, $5 lobby drinks and candy.
Many first-run theater films are available on cable or regular TV within a year or so. Some are not worth spending $15 a ticket plus parking and more. Like the Academy Award winning movie about a cleaning lady who fell in love with a fish. It was on free TV just a few months after it first ran in theaters.
If you want to spend a night out at a movie theater, always ask about senior discounts when buying tickets. Several chains offering them: Landmark Theatres, Regal Entertainment, AMC Theatres, Marcus Theatres, Showcase Cinemas.
