Last night, the Baltimore Ravens destroyed the Los Angeles Rams, 45-6. Who really gives a damn? The grossly-overpaid athletes actually played up and down the field for a total of one hour, while in the real time it takes four hours to watch. Of course, ticket buyers in the stands shelled out an average of $50 an hour for the privilege.
At home and in bars, TV gapers at the one hour of actual play had to endure four hours including dozens of noisy, obnoxious commercials, stupidly detailed video reshots of plays and boring statistics commentary. Isn’t it about time American TV watchers lose their obsession with pro sports and tune in while those endless commercials interrupt less boring programs?
