At this festive time of year, according to recent medical reports, diets containing too much blubber food and lack of exercise will cut lifespans by as much as 25 years. Of course, most seniors with any brainpower know from personal experience and observation that it’s already a well-known fact.
Visit any nursing home and senior community center for confirmation. None of those aged 80 and up people are carrying around a lot of excess fat. I can attest to that statistic. I retired 30 years ago from a job that involved too many hours sitting on my butt in an office and eating too much.
On my last working day at age 65, I was dragging around 195 bloated pounds on a modest 5’8” frame. I was told then by my doctor that if I continued to gorge myself and not exercise, I could expect to go senile and live maybe five more sickly years.
Fortunately, I wised up, immediately put myself on a healthy, fat-free diet and set a strict daily swim and hike routine. Within a year or so of that regimen, my weight dropped to 150, and now, 30 years later, I’m still here at that weight, happily mentally and physically active. http://www.cnn.com/2019/10/23/health/alzheimers-trans-fats-dementia-risk-75-higher-wellness
