According to the Hollywood Reporter, the popular long-deceased actor from two generations ago will soon appear in a 2020 Vietnam war drama about military dogs.
Directors Anton Ernst and Tati Golykh have acquired the legal rights to use the image of Dean, who died in an auto crash in 1955. The movie, Finding Jack, is about a soldier who bonds with a Labrador army dog called Jack in combat, but is ordered to leave Jack behind when he goes home.
They’ll use vintage film and photos to create a CGI version of Dean, with another actor doing his voice. Hey, what if this resurrection process continues? In future films, will Clark Gable’s image not give a damn? Will Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds once again go singin’ in the rain? And will Judy Garland now get to go over the rainbow?
